Vounteer, Non-profit ProgramThe White Stag program is focused on delivering a leadership development experience to youth from across California. Founded in 1958, the program has been entirely supported by volunteer parents and community members since its founding. Our volunteer youth and adult staff work year-round to plan and prepare our summer camps. As a non-profit, we keep our costs low so we can keep our camp fees affordable. Twice each year our youth staff volunteer at the Big Sur Marathon, raising money to help fund the program. The White Stag Leadership Academy sponsors the White Stag program. It sponsors a Learning for Life program, a Boy Scout Troop, and Venture Crew 122 on the Monterey Peninsula. Each year about 50 youth staff, mentored by a team of about 20 adult staff, plan and produce a week-long summer camp program for other youth ages 11-18. The youth plan the menus, write the program plans, develop the ceremonies, manage equipment, and do nearly everything else that can be done without a driver's license and a credit card. Space is limited. Find out which phase is right for you or apply for camp today. |
