About Camp Lindblad
17660 Kings Creek Rd. Location: Camp Lindblad offers year-round camping on 400 acres in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. The camp is located about two miles from Highway 9 and four miles from Boulder Creek, California. Personal safety: There is no public access, so you can be sure of the safety and security of your youth. Candidate participants take a one to three-day backpack trip into the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains. All candidate participants are required to use the "buddy system" whereever they go, even to the restroom. That means they never go anyplace alone. Adult staff are never permitted to spend time under any circumstances alone with a youth (unless with their own children, of course!). Two-deep leadership is always present. Medical facilities: The camp has a dedicated medical lodge with the capability to treat all minor, camp-related injuries. Youth are always accompanied by trained staff and certified medical staff, either an EMT or accredited nurse. Dominican Hospital is located 20 miles away in Santa Cruz. Meals: All meals are either served indoors in the dining hall or, as part of the leadership experience, prepared by the youth in their camp site. We can to a limited extent accommodate special dietary needs as described in the application form. For directions, see Camp Lindblad, Santa Cruz County. |
